WHITE COAT Italy Medical Immersion Italy

Hospitals & mentors

Done properly, or not at all.

Italian hospitals protect their patients - with privacy rules and a medical direction that authorises every educational activity. We work inside those rules, in writing. That is exactly why your experience holds up in an interview.

How hospital experiences work

Agreed per hospital, in writing

Each partner institution defines which settings it opens: simulation centres, teaching facilities, structured observation. We never promise what a hospital has not signed.

Small groups, always accompanied

Groups of 8-10 students with program staff, 8-12 hours per month in total.

Patients come first

Where patients are present, activities follow the hospital's privacy and dignity protocols - the same rules that govern Italian medical students.

Fully insured

Accident, third-party liability and international health cover arranged by the university, included in your fee.

Your mentor

One physician. Your name. Weeks of conversations.

The mentor is the part no shadowing program can copy. A named Italian physician follows you for the whole program - not a rotating host who forgets you by Friday.

Your mentor's name and role are confirmed in your written offer, before you pay anything.

  • Weekly - one-to-one meetings: questions, cases, career - in English
  • Ongoing - CV review and application guidance from inside the profession
  • At the end - a personal letter of recommendation, from someone who can honestly write "I have known this student for two months"
A note on honesty. We publish no partner-hospital logos before agreements are signed, no inflated hours, no stock-photo testimonials. The exact shape of the hospital component at each institution is confirmed in writing in your offer.

Ask us exactly what your cohort's hospital component will be.
